1. INTRODUCTION
Have you ever been talking on your phone and the call suddenly ends? When this happens and you check your phone, you might notice there’s no signal. It returns rapidly in some cases and takes longer in others. In areas with weak reception, an airtel network booster can help prevent such drops by improving signal stability. This usually means your phone’s signal receiver isn’t working properly.
1.1 RESTART YOUR PHONE
Restarting your phone should be your first attempt. This simple step often fixes minor problems.
1.2 TURN AIRPLANE MODE ON AND OFF
If restarting doesn’t help, switch on Airplane mode for a few seconds, then turn it off. This refreshes the phone’s network settings.
1.3 CHOOSE NETWORK MANUALLY
If the problem continues, try selecting your mobile network manually:
- Open Settings
- Go to Network & Internet
- Tap Mobile Networks
- Turn off Automatically Select Network
- Wait for the list of networks to appear
- Choose your network provider manually
If the signal doesn’t come back, your SIM card might be loose. After turning off the phone, take out the SIM card and replace it correctly.
2. IF SIM IS DETECTED BUT NO SIGNAL
If your phone sees the SIM card but still shows no signal, do this:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Network & Internet
- Select Mobile Network
- Turn on Roaming
- Clear your phone’s cache
- Restart your phone
This should help the signal return.
3. IF SIGNAL BARS ARE MISSING
Signal bars show how strong the network is. If you don’t see any bars:
- Make sure Mobile Data is on
- Go to Settings
- Tap Network & Internet
- Turn on the Status Bar Network Speed Display
This should bring the signal bars back to your screen.
4. IF SIM HAS NO SIGNAL
If your SIM card doesn’t have a signal, try going to a different location. Network coverage isn’t the same everywhere, and walls or buildings can block signals.
If that doesn’t work:
- Open Settings
- Tap Connections
- Choose Mobile Networks
- Tap Access Point Names (APNs)
- Tap the three dots in the corner
- Select Reset to Default
5. FIXING GENERAL NETWORK PROBLEMS
To fix general signal issues:
- Restart your phone
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet
- Turn on Mobile Data
- If there’s still no signal, move to a different location
- Try briefly activating Airplane mode and then shutting it off.
If using Wi-Fi and it’s not working:
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on
- Move closer to the router if the signal isn’t showing
6. FIX WEAK SIGNAL AT HOME
If your signal is weak inside your house:
- Move near a window or go outside
- Update your phone’s software:
- On Android: Settings > System > System Updates
- On iPhone: Settings > General > Software Update
7. USE SIGNAL BOOSTERS
If you always have a weak signal, consider using a Wi-Fi calling feature or buying a signal booster. Some boosters need a monthly payment but can greatly improve your signal.
8. REPAIR THE NETWORK IC
If nothing works, your phone’s network hardware (IC) may be damaged. This often happens after a fall. You may need to replace the back cover or take it to a service center like Carlcare to fix the hardware.
